Educational Background Required:
- 2-year degree and/or 2-4 years of professional experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Automotive Experience
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience of OEM product packaging knowledge
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in Returnable and Expendable Packaging.
Skills and Training:
- Automotive industry knowledge.
- Experience with design software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and systems
- Creativity, including the ability to develop innovative packaging solutions
- Analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Essential Functions Required for Job
- Managing and tracking customers’ systems for approval of customer systems for standards submission updates and/or changes.
- Packaging development, quoting and packaging submissions to external customers for approval.
- Maintain customer portals Provide container inventories as required.
- Maintain customer dunnage both inbound and outbound, cycle count monthly and report to customers per their requirements. Statistical data is needed for packaging both inbound and outbound.
- Responsible for the disposition of excess customer packaging. Manage life cycle of container fleets
- Keep all information related to packaging and develop standards per customer requirements/approval.
- Responsible for the completion and approval of customer fleet calculators.
- Implement supplier, 3PL and PW internal reusable container and new packaging improvement programs.
- Creates and maintain packaging instructions for internal and external use.
- Works with Production Engineers and Program Managers to ensure packing information is correct on the bill of material.
- Ensure correct packaging information is entered in SAP for shipping per customer requirements.
- Review, update and maintain all packaging instructions per company compliance
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
